Meet Dawn Felton, the dynamic and accomplished founder and CEO of Data Careers Unlocked with a diverse range of talents and an unyielding drive for empowering others in the tech industry. As a published author, she has captivated readers with her insightful works, showcasing her exceptional storytelling abilities and unique perspectives on various subjects.
Dawn's journey in the tech world began as a data specialist for Morehouse School of Medicine, where her analytical prowess and dedication to harnessing data for meaningful insights earned her recognition and respect among her peers.
Prior to her data-focused career, Dawn made a profound impact as a classroom educator, sharing her passion for knowledge and nurturing the minds of young learners. Her experience in the educational field appointed her with valuable skills in mentorship and leadership.
Equipped with a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Tampa and a Master of Science in Healthcare Administration from Colorado State University Global, Dawn's educational background reflects her thirst for continuous learning and her commitment to excellence.
Now, with a vision to empower more women in the tech sector, Dawn aspires to establish data analytics training programs and mentorship initiatives. Her ambition to bridge the gender gap in the industry and her determination to foster diversity and inclusion make her a trailblazer and an inspiration to aspiring women in tech.
Tamara Felton-Howard, is the Managing Member of Felton-Howard Law, PLLC, a law firm located in St. Petersburg, Florida with a focus on estate planning, probate and real estate development law. She is also chief executive officer of the Equity Institute an emerging economic development organization created by the leadership teams of the 2020 Plan, Inc. and the One Community Plan, who have lead advocacy and implementation of economic equity advancements in St. Petersburg since 2004.She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Florida A&M University’s School of Business and Industry, her Juris Doctorate and M.B.A. from Stetson University and a Master of Laws in Real Property Development from the University of Miami. Ms. Felton-Howard has also earned a Certificate in Real Estate Development from the University of South Florida, Florida Institute of Government.
She began her professional career as a banking center manager for NationsBank. After graduating from law school, she joined the Office of the State Attorney in the Sixth Judicial Circuit as an assistant state attorney. After leaving the State, Ms. Felton-Howard, formerly Tamara Dudley, became a partner with the law firm of Rouson and Dudley, P.A. representing clients in the areas of real estate, business formation, contract law, criminal and family law. In 2010, she became vice-president and general counsel for Urban Development Solutions, Inc., an award-winning, non-profit, commercial real estate development company.
Ms. Felton-Howard’s community work has included an appointment by Governor Jeb Bush as a Commissioner with the Sixth Judicial Circuit Judicial Nominating Committee; Co-Chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee St. Petersburg Bar Association and service on the boards of All Children’s Hospital Foundation, The Boys and Girls Club – Royal Theatre, the Pinellas Community Foundation, the St. Petersburg chapter of the Sickle Cell Disease Association, Mt. Zion Human Services, Mt. Zion Progressive Missionary Baptist Church and NCNW-St. Petersburg Metropolitan section.
Pamela Sims is an advocate for women through her nonprofit organization: Friends and Family Cancer Outreach. Sims owns and operates PSims Hair Boutique that specializes in designing high quality custom units for cancer patients. Pamela joins Data Careers Unlocked because its mission is to help women break into the tech industry with the means of helping unemployed and underemployed women gain income above the living wage standard.
